Question Physical Location of Templates... - 20-04-2008, 08:02 PM

Last week we upgraded to 3.20.02 Stable. While the upgrade went fine and I understand the upgrade process, my webmaster simply jumped in and did it without allowing me time to note what changes we had done. (I do have a backup of the folder and have it on my private system.) While not many changes were made, the ones that were made are what users provided as input to make the use experience better.

My question is this. Where specifically, do the templates reside? I.E. what sub-folder and files make up the templates? I need to get a look at the code before I go head first into reverting. Obviously my changes are sitting in HTML code that still exists and that is the HTML code I trying to find.

I am starting with revert of the modules I know were not touched and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction by the time I am done.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Find: setup\includes\swift.templates.xml - this is the 'default' template code for the build.

Question 20-04-2008, 08:23 PM

ok... Found it.

This is the default template code. But where is the code I modified that this code replaces when I do an Upgrade Revert? What the users sees right now?

Jack

Hi Jack,

This is stored in your database, and is accessible in the administrator control panel, under Templates -> Manage Templates.

Question 20-04-2008, 08:34 PM

Ok... so the code (screens) the user ultimately sees are in the MYSQL database and the file swift.templates.xml is where the master template code resides and is the code pulled from when a user clicks on Restore to Upgrade Revert?

If that is the case then I can use the two for comparison and get my modifications.

Another question? When are you looking at a v4 release?

Jack
