POP3 parser moans over IMAP - 08-03-2006, 07:05 PM

Hi

I configured all my queues to catch emails via POP3 from our Exchange Server. When ever I run the parser, I get the following error message:

Quote:
ERROR: Your PHP is not compiled with IMAP Support.
*NIX Users should recompile the PHP with the --with-imap flag and Windows users can simply uncomment the extension='php_imap.dll' line in their php.ini
I don't want to use IMAP and of xourse, I haven't configured it.

Anyone any idea?

BTW: Using the latest CVS 3.00.45 Release

Thanks a lot in advance

Andre

Hi,

You still need to have php compiled with IMAP support to poll POP3 as it uses IMAP functions.

I installed PHP via apt-get on a linux system. Does that mean, I need to purge it and install it via source?

Never did

Yes or you can use yum install php-imap I think.

Is this CERTAIN? This really bites if this is the case becaues it's not clear that you need BOTH just to use one.

GoDaddy DOES NOT support IMAP on their PHP installs. Is there ANY workaround? If not I think this really needs to get fixed. Anyone else having the same problem? Can we get a list of good "kayako" compatible hosts?

Yes, you deffinatly need to compile PHP with IMAP support to use either POP3 or IMAP fetching.

The only workaround would be to find a host who supports IMAP compiled into PHP.

It would be good to include in the manual (didn't find it) all the options each of the packages (Apache, MySQL, PHP) should be compiled with. It's a pain to go back and redo stuff.
