POP3 suddenly stops working on Linux ? - 27-09-2006, 04:57 AM

Hello all

I have a POP3 mail queue, and have a cron job that polls it every 10 minutes. It's not high traffic and it's fairly recently setup, but now when i try the pop queue it doesn't get all the messages, and even the first one that it fetches isn't coming into the ticket system.

Total Messages in Inbox: 6
Fetching Msg Num: 1
Account is POP3
Fetching Msg UID: 1

Can someone help??

OK - i think i figured out what's happening. My mail box had gotten hit with 40 email queries, and 34 of those were spam which i went and deleted.

The mail parser settings were to take in only 20 emails per pass, but shouldn't this mean that 20 mails get pulled and then another 20? it shouldn't choke when there are 40 emails right?

When i tried to get the remaining 6 emails by running the mail parser from the web link, they wouldn't get pulled into the ticket system.

The only way i got the remaining 6 to get pulled by the mail parser was to clear out the entire mail box completely, run the mail parser on an empty mail box and then put the 6 emails back into the inbox. THEN, the mail parser would automatically pull the 6 emails into the ticket system.

Is this a known bug? I'm running kayako esupport on linux.
