Predefined Response - 26-06-2008, 09:31 AM

One of our staff created a large number of categories and sub categories. Now when you click on Manage predefined responses the browsers says that the page has loaded but no categories are displayed. We dont actually need all these categories, the staff member though she was creating the actual replies, but as I cant get to see them now I cant delete them. Can I simple delete them in the database. If so could some one point me to the correct table etc.

Last question, can you restrict access to edit predefined responses? Had a quick look and doesnt seem to be an option.

managing predefined replies in the DB - 29-06-2008, 07:41 AM

This response may be a bit off-topic, but I thought I'd add my experience.

I've also seen some strange behavior with predefined replies not showing up after created, though I'm not sure as the exact reason for this behavior.

I've resorted to managing my predefined replies in the DB directly. Actually, I manage the responses in a spreadsheet that I load into the DB when necessary. When I load them into the DB, I have to follow the following procedure in order for the updated articles and title to appear.

- import new values into DB
- modify/update one of the articles directly within SS. This appears to cause SS to reread the DB.
- reload my browser cache

Only after doing that, will the new articles appear in the menu.
