Private Knowledgebase - 15-04-2008, 07:16 PM

Hi

We have set up a Knowledgebase category for internal articles for staff only. We have set the Category to Private, and put the articles into thios category, marked Public. Is that right?

Also, is there any way that when a new article is inerted into this category, an alert is sent to the staff to advise them that it is there.

What is the best way for the staff to view these. The only way I have found is via the Staff Control Panel.

Thanks

A

Hi - thanks for your post.

How therefore would I go about setting up some KB articles only visible to staff?

I once asked and I was told that I should make a seperate template group to acheive that. I played around and gave up. at least for the time being
I need the same thing If you find a solution let me know too . I will do the same

Private articles are basically on the same field as draft articles. They are generally useless (for now).

Making a template to separate your knowledgebase will only work if you have two different template groups. Each one of these groups can be assigned user objects which can log in and see different categories under the knowledgebase. This means your staff would have to login to the client support section to view the knowledgebase articles
