Problems uprgading to 3.00.80 - 26-04-2006, 07:57 AM

Hi.

Hoping someone can help as this is the first time I've upgraded SupportSuite. I've followed the instructions in the online manual to get the upgrade going from .45 to .80. After copying the files over the old files on the Win2K3 server I have gone to the "setup" web page and followed the prompts to upgrade.

I then get the following response:

Product: SupportSuite
File Version: 3.00.80
Build Date: 20 Apr 2006 11:02:22 PM
Build Type: STABLE
Verifying Database Connection FAILED
Reason: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

Can someone help as to why this happens?

Thanks.

Hi,

Make sure you have re-edited the config file with your database connection settings, you need to use the new config file and changes have been made to it.

So I've managed to get the autoupgrade part to work and I get the following:

Creating Settings Group: settings_general OK
Inserting settings for: settings_general OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_cpu OK
Inserting settings for: settings_cpu OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_users OK
Inserting settings for: settings_users OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_security OK
Inserting settings for: settings_security OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_datetime OK
Inserting settings for: settings_datetime OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_tickets OK
Inserting settings for: settings_tickets OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_parser OK
Inserting settings for: settings_parser OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_livesupport OK
Inserting settings for: settings_livesupport OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_tw OK
Inserting settings for: settings_tw OK
Creating Settings Group: settings_kb OK
Inserting settings for: settings_kb OK

According to the SupportSuite manual on upgrading i should get a "Your version is now up to date" message after the script has finished. I've waited 20 minutes and have yet to see this. Does the .80 upgrade actually do this to finalise or has something gone wrong with the upgrade and if so, what do I have to do to fix it?

Thanks.

Hi,

In the left hand column does it show the upgrade as completed?

I've only ever upgrades once or twice a while back as were not using v3 live yet and only testing I've preffered to do fresh installs.
