Questions regarding mail properties in Supportsuite - 06-02-2008, 11:43 AM

Hello all,

We have some problems over here regarding outgoing email from supportsuite.

What we want to achive first of all - when an ticket is opened the responsible department members receive an notification from supportsuite that an ticket is created.

Right now the following happens -
a) no email is sent when ticket is created
b) after an ticket is submitted an white page is displayed in suportsuite

I went up and down through the install manual and found no clue on how to solve this.
In Cpu&server settings pane I also tried to set an smtp server but that resulted in even worse situation... (the ticket was not submitted and the page just kept "loading" after submit...).

Another thing- we have NOT set up email piping since our server provider does not give us such access to system what is needed for configuration...
It is an UNIX system but our access is limited to custom made user interface so not much can be done there.. Is email piping an must or is it optional- so far I'v understood it is optional and every function should work without it. System will not have a big load in near future so I think we should be ok.

Is there any info on this matter ? How to set an outgoing mail server for instance?

All info is much appreciated!

Endrik Linnamäe

Hi Endrik,

Can you please post a link to your phpinfo() file, or find out for yourself whether or not your PHP installation is compiled with mbstring support? The symptoms sound exactly like those when mbstring is not available.

Problems after upgrade to PHP5
