Random Permission Denied on Win - 02-09-2006, 10:18 PM

I seem to keep getting this error from LiveResponse when it checks the server for updates every 15 secs:

Code:
Received unexpected response from server (invalid header)!

 Data: (<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<HTML><HEAD> <TITLE>403 Forbidden</TITLE> </HEAD><BODY>
<H1>Forbidden</H1> You don't have permission to access
/support/winapp/index.php on this server.<P> <P>Additionally,
a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an
ErrorDocument to handle the request. <HR>
<ADDRESS>Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.****.com Port 80
</ADDRESS> </BODY></HTML> )
This happens sometimes once in a while, to every single time for 5 minutes straight. LiveResponse auto logs me off of the server when this happens, due to lack of client communication to the server.

I'm using the most current SupportSuite install on the server, along with version 3.0.95.646 (tried regular + Unicode)

I've looked into the winapp directory on the server, and there is no .htaccess file - there is one in /support that is listed as ".htaccess.1154554796" - no ".htaccess" file without the random extension

(Note: This is a cPanel managed server, running current CentOS)

Any advice would be most appreciated..
Thanks!

Did you have to disable mod_security?

Yes. Please provide instructions as what needs to be whitelisted with mod_security or mod_evasive.

We do not experience this issue with any of our other applications running on the server.

The reason it doesnt happen with other applications is because our software refreshes a certain set of files every 5-6 seconds to get updates. mod_evasive & mod_security "think of it" as a DDoS attack and disables the files.

You will need to whitelist the index.php under visitor, winapp, instaalert directories to fix this.
