Reducing Database Size - 16-03-2008, 07:09 AM

Our eSupport database SQL file is now 1.3gb. Are there any tips to reducing the size? Makes nightly backups kind of long and hard on the server....

Are you storing attachments in the database? If so, try changing to file storage.

Probably but how do I do that?

Also I remember years ago there was a table that could be cleared out regularly that held something to do with email filter rules or something. Ring any bells?

Admin CP -> Settings -> Tickets -> "Storage Location For Attachments"

If you run an Optimize on the tables it will likely shrink the database size quite a bit if it hasn't been run in a while.

Try purging your parserlog table. That should reduce the size considerably.
