Whats the difference between repairing and optimizing database tables ? Will the data in that table get lost. This might be a stupid question but please answer. Thanks, and Regards, Vineeth |

In either case you will not loose out on any data. MySQL Tables are optimized to reclaim the unused space and to defragment the data file. The command is usually executed if you have deleted a large part of a table while Repair Table repairs a possibly corrupted table.
