Required Registration to Submit A ticket? - 21-05-2006, 04:07 AM

Is there a way to require the user to register to submit a ticket? As it is right now, you can submit a form that doesn't require validation by typing in the numbers from an image...which invites spammers.

Nevermind, I figured it out. You just have to adjust the guest/registered options under the Users group management options.

you can turn the image verification on in the guest account so it does require you to type the image text.

if you require a guest to register just to submit a ticket. you could really irritate some of your clients, potential clients, or others.

i have been to a number of websites where they do the same thing, require you to register to submit a ticket. there is no way to contact them jsut as a guest.. so when i find a problem with teh website itself and its not working properly and jsut want to tell them, hey, you have a problem. i am not to thrilled to spend the time to register jsut to give them a heads up.

the average person will not hassle with that... they cant even be bothered to push a shopping cart 20 feet to the return station, you think they are going to register to submit a problem ?

ok, duh. i'm going to answer my own question again:

To enable Ticket Image Verification:

Admin panel -> Settings -> Tickets -> Client Support Center Settings

Enable Captcha for Ticket Submission

If Enabled, The Client will be required to verify the entry by entering the text that appears in an Image before the ticket is accepted.

I assumed that this is available in ver 3?? I couldn't find the option in ver 2.3.5

I have version 3.10.02 and I do not see this choice:
