RSS Ticket Status - 27-09-2005, 06:16 PM

I was reading in another post where it was mentioned that you can use ticket views as RSS feeds?

What I am wondering is sort of the same as someone else asked, except for the site not for an external news reader.

Would there be a way to pull the current open tickets, closed tickets, pending tickets, etc... along with average ticket response time via RSS?

If not what about via the DB?

Yes you can pull the ticket list, Under Ticket List click Views > Edit > RSS Feed, It works with all popular news readers which support HTTP Authentication.

I guess I didn't explain what I was looking for well.

What I would like to pull is:
(Number) Tickets Open
(Number) Tickets On Hold
(Number) Tickets Closed

Average Response Time:
(Number)

To put on the main site. Would this be possible in the current RSS design? I did try the RSS view from news feed and it required a username/pass.

Not Yet, But we are implementing it right now for a Mac OS X Tiger Widget that one of our users is working on.

It should hopefully be in the next build.

That would be great Varun. It's one thing that can raise a customers confidence is seeing how many tickets have been opened/closed/on hold and the average response time (if they all look good of course. )

Mine doesn't work either .. I use Newsgator Inbox.

They are looking into it. Their support response says:

According to a trace I took, the server is sending WWW-Authenticate headers for Basic, Negotiate and NTLM. It looks like Inbox is attempting to use the WWW-Authenticate: Negotiate option, and the server negotiates NTLM, which ultimately fails, probably because you're not using a domain logon to authenticate. I'm looking into how to force NewsGator Online to not try NTLM, but for Inbox, that's still a legitimate option. I'm guessing your server is expecting different domains for different schemes - it declares "RSS Feed" as the domain for Basic, and your AD is the domain for NTLM. If you put "RSS Feed" into the domain box in Inbox, does authentication work then?

I have to agree I could not get it working I called the URL direct from the browser and was asked to enter a user name and password but I tried my Staff Login as well as my AD user I have .90 running under IIS.
