Is this satellite feature really working? - 30-12-2005, 12:10 AM

I am having some problems in defining the “satellite” feature working correctly.

I followed the instructions of this article: i followed instruction of this FAQ: http://support.kayako.net/index.php?...kbarticleid=13

Our main support site is at www.mydomain.com/support

We have created a custom template group called trial.

We want people falling on this template to register for one single task (download a file) so we have put a file download in this.

But we want to keep this satellite separate from the main support, so we setup the NOSAVE=1

The link to this template is:

http://www.mydomain.com/support/?group=trial&nosave=1

The fact is that if a person fall an register, (or even fall first on this template) the NOSAVE seems not working.

As a result, every time he falls on the support site www.mydomain.com/support it keeps lredirecting to the trial template.

Is this a bug? Or an incorrect setup I am using?

Please let me know, satellite was the main reason why I have bought this software…

I have naturally shot an email to kayayo one week ago and as it seem standartd here no answer at all...

I'm suffering with a similar issue. Can anyone replicate this?

We have a default template group (TemplateA) setup with AD (LDAP) as the Loginshare mechanism. All works fine, login as an AD user without issue, user account gets created OK. We then create a new template group (TemplateB) and use the default Loginshare. We create a new user account and assign it a new user group defined against the new template group (TemplateB), and attempt to login at the url ..../index.php?group=TemplateB. Login fails with a result code '0', showing loginresult=0&group=templatea&group=templateb.

If we amend the default template group (TemplateA) to use the same loginshare mechanism (i.e. same as the default template loginshare), it works fine. So...we know the user account is good, and that our setup is correct.

Is this a bug...it does look like it? I would of assumed that two different loginshare authentication mechanisms could be used on the same installation by two satellite setups.

Can anyone advise?

Mark

As I far as I know one owned or lease allow you to have several templates but only one admin/staff section.
I also heard people have some issue while trying to use 2 loginshare system at same time.

Maybe, it's because you have to choose one loginshare system and that's it. Can someone confirm this?
