Search engine Client interface - 13-05-2008, 10:50 AM

Hi,

I've created a ticket on the client interface with the subject "Test" and with the content "This is a test."
When I enter "test" in the search bar and press Enter, it does not find anything.

Where is that search engine looking?
Why can't he find words that are in the subject and/or content from a ticket?
It also can't find the ticket ID.....

Is that search bar even working?

We have the same problem.

We submitted this problem to this forum and to Kayako's support as a ticket, probably 6 to 12 months ago. As far as we know, Kayako blames this on MySQL, and submitted the (core of the) problem to a MySQL forum. Since Kayako has not yet received a response from the MySQL forum, this problem is on hold.

For us, the search functionality works very poorly, even for simple English words (although it also works; about 50% probability for a typical search; not sure how/why).

We wish that Kayako would perhaps pay for some MySQL support, and solve this problem. Otherwise, this problem may be on hold indefinitely.

Yes I agree.
When I search in the Knowlegdebase it does find names that are in the subject or article.
Why can't Kayako do this to by tickets?
I mean, searching in tickets is the main section people want to search.

Imagine that you have 100 tickets and 90 tickets are closed.
You'll need to find a closed ticket with the subject "Billing".
In that case you will have to search through all the closed tickets yourself.

Isn't this insane?

Even worse: You can submit this problem as a bug report, submit a Ticket to Kayako's support, or contact Kayako via Live Chat. But it all will not matter at all (assuming that your problem is similar to our long-standing problem).

Basically: Just deal with it (somehow), and its consequences. That is very frustrating.
