setup.php is blank!! - 07-12-2005, 10:22 AM

Can anyone help?

We have setup PHP5.1.1 with Zend Optimiser and when we navigate to setup.php, it is simply blank!

Any ideas?

Hi Darren,

This is likely to be an issue with PHP5.1.1, I will pass this on to Varun so he can take a look.

Resolution...possibly... - 08-12-2005, 09:09 AM

We had attempted to install v3.00.27 with PHP 5.1.1, but found problems, so we downgraded php to a lower version PHP v5.0.5, Apache v2.0, Zend Optimiser.

Basically, we had the very latest versions of everything we needed and it didn't function.

I would reccomend NOT using the latest PHP until Kayako say that SupportSuite is compatible with it.

...even though the Installation Manual states PHP v4.3 or higher...

Their product does not meet the advertised specs. It is impossible for me to downgrade PHP.
I wish I had looked more thoroughly at this forum before buying the products. They seem to be having severe support and bug problems.

I opened a support ticket about this issue. If they don't come up with a fix within a reasonable timeframe I will have to ask for my money back.

Hi,

PHP 5.1.1 has only very recently being released, there is a bug report open and assigned.

I tried to run it on

PHP 4.4.1 (cli) (built: Nov 5 2005 22:55:54)
Copyright (c) 1997-2004 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2004 Zend Technologies
with the ionCube PHP Loader v2.5, Copyright (c) 2002-2004, by ionCube Ltd., and
with Zend Extension Manager v1.0.8, Copyright (c) 2003-2005, by Zend Technologies
with Zend Optimizer v2.5.10, Copyright (c) 1998-2005, by Zend Technologies

I know I am being impatient in this matter, but I paid immediately after ordering yet it took them three full business days to activate my order. Then I downoad the files and even the setup does not work. Then I come here and read horror stories about bugs in the software and bad customer support. Also, this blank screen problem seems to have been around for some time yet they were not able to fix it for good.
So far I have received no assistance in this matter except for the question if I am running the latest Zend and Ioncube.
I know I will be a happy customer once I got this installed but right now I feel left alone with a buggy piece of software that does not even install.
The least they could do is let me know that they are working on the problem and will provide a solution within a few days.

Hi,

Try removing the Ioncube loaders from your php.ini, this has been known to casue issues having both Zend and Ioncube setup in the php.ini.

Hi,

What version of PHP can I downgrade to until the issue with 5.1.1 is resolved? Would it be the last stable version of PHP4? Thanks.

Hi aviens ,

The program won't currently work with PHP5.1.1, Varun needs to investigate what has changed in PHP to casue the problem.

I've contacted the Ioncube makers and this is their reply to my question:

"there's no published way to disable the Loader, and it cannot be
removed on the fly if installed in the php.ini file. Without knowing the reason
for suggesting that it be disabled in the first place and only
having partial information, we cannot really advise further."

I'm starting to get very annoyed because I am not getting any response from Kayako to my ticket. I can't believe that a company selling support software has such a lousy customer support. Why don't they even acknowledge the problem and let me know they are working on it?
