Show "User is Typing..." - 09-04-2008, 12:49 PM

Show "User is Typing..."
If enabled, both visitors and staff users will be able to see when the other is typing. Disable this option to reduce server load



I have no idea why the above does not work! where am I suppose to see it?

Hi jnet,

In a live chat, this is shown at the bottom of the chat window of the staff and user respectivley (when they are typing, that is).

I know and I have had another chat before, also I have enabled it in my kayako setting but I do not see it . strange

This is a bug and I can confirm it. Clients window does not notify that the Staff User is typing.

It has been many months. I find this bug in Live Response to be very very awkward.

It's been resolved but we have to wait for the next stable release I'm told. Not sure how long that will be, but I agree that this should be available sooner than later since it breaks a major function of the chat process.

Am I the only one here who thinks it's not acceptable to break the "client is typing" message and not have a fix available from April until September? People's support contracts are going to run out before a fix is made available at this rate.

Hi aartech,

We hope to have release candidate builds available soon. I apologise for the delay.

We agree that the length of time between releases is too long, and makes it difficult for important fixes such as this to propagate to our customers (who would have to apply patch files, pick out files out of the CVS builds and so on). Therefore, following the upcoming build release, all of our builds and roadmaps will be much shorter and much more frequent.
