Slow Reports - Kayako

Now that we've been using Kayako live for a few months reporting generating has started to slow down to a crawl. I think now it's at the stage where the reports are unable to be ran properly for a months date range - especially the Work Schedule report.

I understand completely the issue of database performance and sheer size of data for that particular report, but are there ways that I can improve the performance somehow for report generation?

Optimising the database may improve it slightly.

Kayako need to allow report generation to be run via a PHP file then it could be run via command line as a root user which would be given a higher priority and it done faster really.
