SMS via Alert problems - 05-10-2008, 09:16 AM

Hi,

I have been having problems with using sms via "Alert".

I reinstalled 3.30.02 with clean database.

If I enable SMS on an Alert the person (registered) receive a mail delievery error:
ie: person@theiremailaddress -> support@mydomain.com

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

pipe to |/home/xxx/public_html/support/cli/index.php
generated by support@xxxxx.cc
local delivery failed

If I select "Email" instead of "SMS" in the Alert then it works normally.

Can someone help.

I opened a kayako ticket a week ago with still no response.

Post your ticket number here so a kayako staff member can see why it hasn't been actioned.

I fought with this as well. Make sure you have the country code in the staff member's SMS telephone number. For here in the US, it would be "15556661234" and not just "5556661234". If you do the later, it causes the "local delivery failed" error message.

I thought that was something you usually did (ie find out why a ticket hasn't been actioned / resolved)?

Yes, if a ticket has strayed - which it hasn't in this case.

But when netaddict posted what he did, he couldn't be sure which case this ticket was...
