Spell Check in Knowledgebase - 22-10-2005, 05:06 AM

Any reason why a Spell Check option was not added to the Knowledgebase?

When I finish adding a knowledgebase article directly, it would be nice if I could spell check the article. I can't imagine this would be too difficult to add here.

Later,
Doug

I was going to post something about this. But found yours instead. This should be added to the knowledgebase AND the news also. I started using the spell checker and it actually works quite nicely. Should also be able to make sure my news and articles are clean of spelling errors.

Doug and Eger,

I agree completely. Spell checking should be an option for any staff composed text.

Cheers,

Tom

I agree totally 100% as well, although since my spell check hasn't worked since the install it wouldn't really help me any, it still seems like a logical addition to the system

I got spell checking working in our SupportSuite installation a couple of days ago. The procedure was pretty simple:

- install aspell (http://aspell.sourceforge.net)
- install the dictionary of choice for aspell (we use US English)
- restart Apache after modifying its startup script to include the
directory containing the aspell executable

Platform:

Sun Solaris SPARC 5.9
PHP 4.4.1
Zend Optimizer v2.5.10
SupportSuite v3.00.32 CVS

Cheers,

Tom
