Spell Checker Failure. - 12-12-2005, 10:28 AM

When I try to spell check in creating a Phone Ticket, the spell chekc window appears and throws up the error detailed in the screenshot below.

We have installed v3.27 on a Linux box, so Windows fixes are of no use to us.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi Darren,

That error would suggest aspell isn't installed on your Linux box.

What output do you get when you type:

which aspell

Just had this begin today, aspell error (see screen shot).
Was working fine, now it isn't. Looking in /usr/lib, when it's in /usr/bin.
Any suggestions?

Seems like your aspell language file doesnt exist in the path mentioned, Can you confirm that?

/usr/lib/aspell/en_us is the file.

Not sure what you mean by this Varun. How do I determine the path it's looking for, and what file? I did "which aspell" and it shows "/usr/bin" if that's what you mean. No change to the server, worked yesterday as is.

Weird, posts are out of order...

At any rate, any idea why this would have suddenly gone missing, and is there a way to include this in the local path, or only in /usr...?

Found a workaround (don't have root access) by specifying "american.multi" (which did exist) instead of "en_us". All better now.

Hi,

We are having a problem with aspell in SupportSuite. The error is:

System error: Aspell program execution failed ('aspell -a -- lang=en_US < ./../../cache/aspell_data_71EryQ 2>&1')

Aspell is installed:

[root@server file]# which aspell
/usr/bin/aspell

Our LIB directory contains:

[root@server aspell]# pwd
/usr/lib/aspell
[root@server aspell]# ls -la
total 4392
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 11 16:50 .

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Christopher.

Kayako support doesn't exist.

I've had no response on HIY-918137 in over a week.

Does anyone have contact information for Kayako - phone or other?

Sadly Kayako are no longer answering any support tickets and sadly they're based in India and thus can't be help accountable for their behavior and poor business ethic.
