Unhappy Staff Login Issue - 08-09-2007, 04:58 AM

Hello Guys,

i have a problem with login to the staff CP , every time i try to login the page take me back again to the login page

so how i can fix this till now i cant login with my staff account and i dont know what's this error and what's the reason

the strange this is no error message appear or any thing just go back again to the login page every time i try to login

so any body can help me ??

What version of Kayako are you running? Did it happen after an upgrade? Have you recently changed the URL that Kayako is running on?

Straight from the Kayako KB:
1) Your Server Date is Incorrect: If your server date is not synced properly then it might result in constant Session Expired Due to Inactivity Errors, The resolution to this is to run the "ntpdate" command to sync the server clock. Example:

ntpdate clock1.unc.edu

OR

ntpdate www.otc.psu.edu

2) Your IP Changes Frequently: Dynamic IPs can also result in this error, You can disable the use of Static IPs by changing $disablesessionipcheck option under the config/config.php file

3) Your HEAP Table gets Flushed Automatically: For some unkown reasons the session table gets emptied on certain systems, the solution is to convert it from HEAP (Memory) to MyISAM (Disk Based) Table by running the following SQL Query:

ALTER TABLE `swsessions` TYPE = MyISAM;

4) You have some Cookie Crunching Software on your Desktop: This error can also be a cause of cookie crunching/clearing software installed with your web browser

5) Proxies & Web Accelerator: Google Web Accelerator and other proxies are also known to cause this issue

And if all of them fail, try upgrading to 3.11.01 as it may of been fixed.

Hi Guys,

1st i wanna thank you a lot for helping me to solve this issue

and i now solved it

but after that i get a new error in the scripts index " Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_internal_encoding() in /home/support/public_html/includes/Mail/htmlMimeMail.php on line 655 "

is appear under the footer and also when any one from the clients try to reset the password.

also another thing with Sending Mails.

the Verfication Message donr sent to the clients or any message els from the script

so what's this problem and how i can fix it

You need to make sure that your PHP is compiled with mbstring

Do you manage the server yourself or is it managed by somebody else? If it is something else, ask them to recompile PHP with MBString.

Create phpinfo file on your server to know if your server PHP is compiled with mbstring or not. It should have a mbstring block something like the attached image.
