Why all of the sudden, after 3.30 STABLE, am I seeing these strange characters in my KB articles?

I have never seen this before. What have you selected as the character set for your tables in your MySQL database?

Default character set is "latin1"

I commented out the line below in my config.php and it works now, no strange characters!

Code:
$_DB['charset'] = "utf8";

You should not change this from "utf8" - it is meant to be utf8, and so is the character set in your MySQL tables.

It may work now, but should you start handling content of a foreign language you may run into problems. If you're sure you'll never be handling foreign characters, then this should be OK.

This used to happen to me and I had to go back into my articles and delete the strange characters...this happened in many previous versions of kayako.
