Suggest a knowledgebase article - 30-01-2008, 02:25 PM

The knowledgebase is currently undergoing an overhaul. If you have a suggestion for an article that you know;
  • Would have helped you out in the past or
  • Is a commonly recurring question here on the forums
Then please post the title of such an article here, including any related threads that caused you to suggest the article. We'll then write them up.

Please do not discuss things in this thread. When suggestions are processed and the article updated, suggestion posts will be deleted.

Thank you,

Jamie Edwards (jamie.edwards ]at[ kayako.com)

Clearing cache on the hosted platform is a common forum question. Also, in that topic area, "Why are my template changes not showing?".

Also adding in how users can "restrict access to ticket submission to registered users only" is a common question.

I have a group called junior technicians and I would love to prevent them from creating/deleting a knowledgebase article\category. Currently, in the group properties you can only select whether to view the Kb tab or not. Same goes for the News tab.

Howto: Work with custom field of type custom - 10-04-2008, 03:44 PM

I have found very little help in relation to working with custom fields of type custom.
I've searched the knowledgebase and the forums. Any references are very basic and the information is sporadic at best.
In most cases the queries weren't answered.

It would be great if this could be dealt with with a step by step example.
