support videosn't don't play in Firefox - 26-06-2007, 09:51 PM

Using the latest version of Firefox we have no idea why our online video tutorials don't playback in Firefox 2.0 but they work in IE and Opera.

Here is a direct link to one of our tutorials: http://support.marketingtips.com/kb/...d=2&nav=0,43,2

All these are just flash based.

Anyone else have problems playing flash videos with Firefox while using the support suite?

Doesn't work in Mozilla either. Went to that page, clicked on the first linked tutorial, and there were several links that said "video" next to them. These were just links to further down the page where it says you can download an EXE version (no thanks).

So I guess I need to file a bug report then.

The point I'm making is that I didn't see where any videos were linked or embedded in the tutorial I viewed. The links within the article were merely links to a different part of the page (IE: domain.tld/pagename#foo), called "anchor links". There were only links to download an exe version, something I won't personally do.

Unless you have these videos working in IE (as Flash) or I'm not looking at the right tutorial, this is not a bug, but a coding error on your part.

Perhaps here is a better example:

http://support.marketingtips.com/kb/...127&nav=0,3,47

View this in IE7

These are flash videos

Yes, I see the code in there, but the Flash code seems to be incomplete? You have the OBJECT, but no EMBED source I could see.
Code:
<embed src="
This could be why it works in IE but not other browsers?

Mine have a "skin.swf" embedded in them (the player bar), and in this, it calls the main SWF file in the first frame. This was also made with Captivate.
