I still think that this should be added into the fixes for this build:

- See staffmembers from other departments on ticket creation/management
- See other staffmembers on search (departments is ok there I see ?)
- See staffmembers on Private Message Compose.

Those won't be added to this build, but if you believe them 'bugs' please submit each (separately) to the bug tracker.

A lot of people use the troubleshooter.... not all people are like hosting providers ect..

Hi Jamie,


The question is why

- it's a bug when a Staff member can see other departments where they don't belong too

- but not a bug why they can see other staff members that don't belong to their department.

What is the advantage of seeing them when they can't see on what Department they are ?

I should say... just move them away from seeing and a lot of questions will not be made by staffmembers.

How long after a Stable build is released is it installed for Hosted Users?

And how are we informed of this change?

And how do we know which (user-modified) templates will be affected?

Stable builds are available to hosted customers immediately; you can start the upgrade process yourself (it is not automatic).

Following the upgrade, go to the administrator control panel, Templates and then click on "Restore Templates". Select to search for all those where 'Upgrade revert required' - the templates listed will be those that have been modified and require a restore.

Remember to backup all of your templates when doing this so that you have a copy of your customisations saved.

Bug #256 ticket statuses showing in all departments on client view when they are assigned to say only 2 departments. The per department status works on the staff side, but not client. Can anyone else confirm this?

while it undergoes a final round of testing that should last no more than a few days, assuming no show-stoppers. " Few days " for a long time have expired!?

I do realise they have been saying this since just before Christmas but a few things have happened since then :-
1. A fair amount of bugs have cropped up that needed fixing before the release was done.
2. From what I can tell, one of their PHP developers left around January time leaving only Varun who also manages the India office day to day as well as coding and John who you have to remember has only been with Kayako for ~4 months.

Version 3.20 still has the KB Search Issue:

Kayako Bug Tracker - Viewing Issue #470 - Knowledgebase search not working in WHMCS integration

Everything else seems to be working for us.
