Taking info from custom fields to comprise the subject - 17-07-2008, 09:29 PM

Hey everyone,

I'm the newest of new guys here, and Ive done some extensive searching without finding an answer to my question.

What I'd like to do is take info from a custom field, in this case, "company name", and append it to a static chunk of text "IP Addition" to create the subject automatically, the end result looking like this:

"Company Name - IP Addition"

Is that possible via something already in place, or a somewhat simple code change?

Sounds like a good feature for the parser...

It is not possible yet. If you want to perform this modification you have to recode ticket creation section. Most of the functions you can find here KAYAKO_ROOT/modules/tickets, and to understand how custom fields work you should take a look into _KAYAKO_ROOT_/includes/functions_customfields.php
