Template modification not reflected? - 05-01-2006, 03:51 AM

Hi,

I've made some changes to the email_staffreply template but I don't see the change reflected in the emails received from the staff. Any idea why that it?

Basically, I've added these two lines.

<{if $queuesignature != ""}><BR><{$queuesignature}><{/if}>
<{if 1==1}><BR>Changes<{/if}>

The second line was just to test that if it's working. Should always have the word 'Changes' in the email but ... nothing!

Hi,

You need to empty the cache folder after editing the templates.

Variable still missing - 07-01-2006, 04:54 AM

Thanks Neil. That worked. Now the word 'Changes' is out. However, the $queuesignature is still missing. Do you know if that variable is available for the email_staffreply template?

If I have a hosted installation, how do I clear out the cache folder?

From the installation folder - 13-01-2006, 04:14 PM

There should be a folder named 'Cache' under the installation directory. Just remove all the files in that directory.

* When experimenting for the first time, I renamed the folder and created another 'Cache' folder. Just to be sure.

Hi.

I just tried that and lost all navigation and I am now getting errors when logging in. I had to restore the cache folder to fix it but the templates are still not showing up as they should be.

Anyone have a step by step procedure on modifying auto_responder emails?
I have been going at it for over 6 hours and my client needs this done by monday.

If someone could provide these my keyboard would truly enjoy not being hit by my fist anymore.

Thanks
Chris

Hey Chris,

I just experienced this as well. I'm not sure why it worked the first time but the scripts didn't reproduce themselves in the cache folder just a few moment ago when I tried it.

So, delete everything save the *.js scripts in the cache folder. I got all navigations restored when I restored the scripts.

Hope that helps.
