Trying to upload file for downloads section - 10-05-2007, 12:10 AM

I'm trying to upload the IE7 installer to my downloads section so that users can download it from support suite. However, when I try to upload it via Staff CP it takes about 2min, then it redirects to the dashboard and nothing uploads. I tried to upload a smaller file and it worked. Is it because the installer is 15MB? I can't see where there is a size restriction. Anyone know why this is happening?

Check your server error_log for any reported errors.

It will most likely be because the upload_max_filesize in php.ini is set to a figure lower than the file you are trying to upload. You would need to change this and restart the webserver to get it to work with larger files.

If you are on shared hosting, speak to your web host about it.

fyi...

If you are on windoze, and are using application pools in IIS, you should be able to just "recycle" the application pool for eSupport to have the changes to php.ini recognized.

Rich

Features I need asap:
1) Ticket search in the client portal!
2) Column display in client portal showing clients email address or name
3) Downloads by client
(i.e. - each client has their own download area and can't see/touch downloads for any other client.) This would be on top of a "public" download area.
4) Integrated KB image uploads
The ability for staff to upload images with a KB articles.
Cheers!

Hi Siora,

Yes it's on the server. Start|run|inetmgr which launches IIS, then the application pools section. (Assuming they setup eSupport to use application pools) If eSupport is the only thing on the server, then it's the "DefaultAppPool" otherwise, they would have to have setup a unique application pool for eSupport.

Cheers,

Rich
