Upgrade from v2 to v3 errors - 28-07-2005, 01:59 PM

During the upgrade I received a few errors (the refresh moved to fast to see them) but then it just stopped with this error:

Quote:
Importing: Knowledgebase (Page 4 of 4)
Unable to Import Comment, Found a bogus KB Article: 135

Any idea? As far as it looks the upgrade did not finish properly.

edit: KB Article: 135 does not exist in my current eSupport v2.3.5

Another issue with the upgrade is all articles are marked as being added "28 Jul 2005". Can't the true dates be transfered also?

Try the following query to lookup the KB article:

SELECT * FROM asFaqQuestions WHERE id = '135';

The date not being transferred seems like a bug, Can you submit a bug report for this at http://bugs.kayako.net ?

Varun,

KB Article doesn't exist as I said in my edited section of the first post. So what this tells me is any KB articles that were removed will end up kill the upgrade script. That was only #135. I have over 500 in mine. I'll replace the article with something to fill the spot and do a full upgrade again.

Sending bug in now.

Not sure if you remedied this bogus kb upgrade issue. I had the same issue. Looks like if the id field is not in sequence this error occurs. I resolved by changing the id of the last record to the missing id and again running the import.

Problem is I have many missing so that will take some time.

Thanks for the headsup fix tho.

Well that didn't work for me...

Even after fixing missing ID on 5 articles and did the installation and upgrade 3 times the completed install still shows all articles to be started for todays date.

You had set the Priority to Low when I asked you to mark it as Critical, I have changed the Priority now. It will be resolved in the next bug fix build.

I had actually submitted the bug before you told me to mark it critical.

Regardless thank you.

Just for the record, this bug (fails on bad cat id) still exists, in the .32 build. I just tried impex to bring in my KB and it failed with a similar error. Fixed with a hand edit to alter parentid 3 to a valid one.
