Exclamation User IP address is incorrect - 14-06-2006, 12:10 PM

The User IP address always reflects my help desk's IP, not theirs. The IP address in the ticket view of the user does no good, it is incorrect.

Seeing this aswell, would also be nice if the IP was extracted from the Received headers when the ticket arrives from a Mail Queue

This would not work for tickets submitted from the web. You'd have to have two separate systems, one for web submissions, one for e-mail submissions. I'd like to also click this IP address in the ticket view and get info on the IP, i.e. geolocation, etc. Like vBulletin and more!

using wget - 14-06-2006, 10:08 PM

when using the wget, it gives only the ip address of whatever ran the "mail parser" part. It doesn't extract from their e-mail start location or anything. I will get it correctly if they submit it through the normal web interface but the e-mail will show only the local server's ip address that runs the mail parse program. Im running IIS6, w2k3 sp1, exchange 2003, outlook 2003 pro- internal network only.

Is this still an ongoing issue?
