Exporting Links toolbar - 18-03-2008, 04:40 PM

Hello I have found the livesupport internal browser a really useful feature.

I have created a pool of around 30 usefull links both internal and external. Now I would like to share this with my collegues. Is there any way to export and pass this toolbar?

Thanks

Copy ToolbarIcons.xml to all the machines you want this on. On 64 bit, it is located inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Kayako\LiveResponse and 32 bit it is C:\Program Files\Kayako\LiveResponse

that is what I did. Strange fact the xlm contains only the original 3 links and not any new. The same happens in the other pc I passed over the xlm, but there of course there ar eno new links. I mine instead it still shows all the links... tried to logoff logon back....nothing...Maybe is saving the newone somewhere else?

Add them all in manually to that XML file. Does that work?

Craig,
thanks for your help. Let me explain once again....
The file you mention did not changed at all it stays the same original with the code shown above. whatever changes, deletions, modifications i did both in the bar or by editing the xlm file Funny thing I have even deleted links to kayako support and forum, which in fact are not enymore in my bar but are still in my XLM file.

To me it is changing some other file....
It is driving me nuts :-)

What I am saying is write in XML format in that file all your links rather than exporting then copy that to the other machines.

That is what I did also... Not working either me and the others tryes I did. Any change you do on that file does not reflects in the kayako toolbar and viceversa. Even the last modify date stays the same on the xlm file.

Tried to add manually a link by editing the XML file.
Nada, niet, zero,

It is clearly modifyng some other file somewhere else and I am going nuts to find out...

To add, I am starting to think these should be stored on the server for the particular user then they can be accessed on any machine they log onto...

Your welcome.

Since Windows 2000 and multi user accounts, most programs store things in Application Data rather than the registry.
