Did you try this?

Best way of avoiding this is to keep windows update disabled and update manually when there is actually an update you need *winks*

Why is this? Do you receive an error or are there group policies preventing uninstalling?

This is not really a solution to anything; automatic or not updates would still be applied eventually and the same problem would occur, just slightly delayed (as would receiving the benefits of the updates themselves). It is also not always possible in an office environment where update (such as secpol) policies are enforced automatically.

Not true. It allows the problem to be fixed first in a newer version before you update. It is the way I have always done it and it has saved problems like this.

I do realise that this isn't possible for the users inside a larger office enviroment however.

Removing IE7 Update worked for me - 13-02-2008, 03:59 PM

Just a quick note to let you know that the removal of the latest IE7 update corrected the issue immediately after reboot.

Jamie has already said this will be looked into today.

The C++ developers are in Idaho, USA remember so it is only 8:30am their time and will be just starting work.

Removal of the patch for "KB944533" takes care of the issue here too.

I still hate windows - I ONLY use it for live help - still want to see a browser edition - we wouldn't have had this problem

Indeed, IE 7 patch KB944533 is responsible for this. If you uninstall this update, it will give you a temporary fix for the issue.

We will be releasing a new LiveResponse build in the next few hours that will allow you to keep the update installed and continue using the application.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. It is sometimes impossible to predict the results that patches and Windows Updates will have on any given application; we will work hard to correct any issues as soon as possible.
