Live response 100% CPU - 28-06-2006, 02:38 PM

Hi

for months now i keep finding sometimes my systems going slow.

when i double click the live response system tray icon it does nothing.

I go to task manager to see liveresponse.exe is running at around 99% CPU i close it then everythings working fine.

i reopen and after sometime it does the same again.

This is on my PC, laptop and office workstation. all running windows XP sp2.

It also happened on a windows vista machine after sometime. (not that live response works properly on vista anyway).

anyone know a fix for this?

I have 6-6-6a build and has been the same with all builds i have ever had.

Just a quick question - are you using the SIP phone plugin?

Thanks.

I never see this, but that isn't very surprising. Developers don't often see these bugs happening; that would make things too easy, I guess. :P

You say that it happens after you leave it running for "some time" -- how long? An hour? Two? A day or more?

And you can't get it to respond after it maxes the CPU? Does it ever come down and let you work again, or do you always have to kill it?

Hi,

I too see the CPU spikes with LR, mine tend to happen if I have lost connection to the server for one reason or another (such as unplugging the network cable).

i uninstalled and reinstalled before, and its not happened for a few hours now but i know it will come back.

Neil, maybe its because we both run busy hosts, maybe it cant handle to many visitors lol.

We have seen this happen mainly when the connection to the server has been lost. Once it has reconnected, the CPU sometimes goes to 100%

Has it happened with the most recent hotfix build? I can't reproduce it with the latest version.

However, that doesn't rule out a problem. I'll look into this more thoroughly.

Yes we have seen this too. We have the latest build. Usually killing the process and restarting the app works.

the run time could be a few minutes to a couple days but we notice this happening atleast 2 to 3 times a month.

Can anyone else confirm that it happens after hibernation?
