wine - 08-09-2008, 06:07 AM

Hi Jamie,

thanks for your fast response...i am just not ready to capitulate and install windows on all our computers instead just for kayako to run correctly and pay win licences.

Isnt there really something which i can do to fix this? If the IE wine implementation is too old...isnt there anybody to know how to put newer one there? It is such a small problem and using windows requires a lot of investment for our firm to do....

Thanks
Ivo

Hi Ivo,

If you're running the latest version of Wine on Linux, then install IEs4Linux into your bottle (that what it called on Wine on Linux? That's what mac crossover calls it). Make sure it isn't trying to use the gecko rendering or w/e. The application requires IE.

On Mac, the problem is that IE6 in CrossOver doesn't support Cookies very well. Actually it disables them (WinXP bottle). I've tried a bunch of stuff to get IE6 working properly and it just won't.

I managed to get the chat window to load, but the message I get is "Session expired". The easiest fix for me would be to not use cookies but session IDs.

Anyways, I've got a ticket notifier app almost complete (mac OS X app), which we'll be using. But live support will have to be a different, OS friendly, product.

Cheers,
