Newbie instal Help seriously needed please. - 22-06-2006, 02:45 AM

Greetings all,

Maybe some one can help me, I just signed up for the liveresponse 7 day trial, once signing up it took us to the download page where we followed the instructions, the last bit of info then says that once we get our email it will give us the needed info as to how to install everything.

The email has arrived with 3 support addys and a click to activate the account. When clicking on the activate account link it just takes us to the download page, is this this normal?

Anyways, we installed the client and syncworks, started it up and we were met with a error message about our header info with the w3c tags? No idea why we are getting this error.

So what I am wondering is, we have recieved no info as to what we need to add to our server EG: monitor code, java code etc to get this going, all we have been issues is the applications.

Forgive my newbiness here, but am I missing something hehehe?

Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

If your error message appears to contain W3C tags, the likely scenario is that you used the wrong URL when trying to connect.

Here is the FAQ entry:

That makes sense, aside from that I do not have the suite installed on my server, its a 7 day trial, so does this mean I can not demo how the LiveResponse works since I need to have the components installed on my actual server?

You can use it on your demo server in the same fashion you would your actual server.

Just point the WinApp to your demo SupportSuite/eSupport installation.
