Opening up Network

Hi,

I own your Support Suite product. I like it a lot. I have recently learned about your LiveResponse product. Have that running on my local computer here. Have connected to my server and everything but his ViewShare is working great.

Regarding ViewShare, I see in the options/Chat, ViewShare needs to open a port. Default looks like 5055. I need to know if I need to open TCP or UDP, and if I need to enable my servers address. Can you point me to a resource about how I need to open up my local router, please? Also, do I need to enable port 5055 on my server?

You need to forward the port (TCP) to each machine with the application on and make sure any firewalls on the machine or hardware ones on the network do not block it.

It looks like shdawson and I are having the same issues. Where would I go to do this, given that the XP firewall is disabled, so theoretically there should be no denial of ports?

Also, does our having a hosted solution impact your recommendation at all?

Also, I've run netstat and I can see that the port is open and listening.....
