I think the easiest way to do this would be to save it using the %USERPROFILE% environment variable. Say at "%USERPROFILE%\Kayako\*.*". Since that path would exist on both a non-networked workstation as well as one that is networked, it might fit the bill. And corporate network users typically save their profiles on the server or sync the profiles to the users home folder, that information would follow the user no matter which machine they login from.
