SIP addon PINA - 14-12-2006, 02:56 AM

Pina = Pain in the ****.

Firstly it's great works great when it does work. Now the problem I have is this:

1 - Download and install, purchase license all ok
2 - 2 weeks later same machine sip addon does not work at all "Network timeout"
3 - Reinstall sip addon no more network timeouts (same settings)
4 - Fire up liveresponse a few days later sip addon is missing
5 - Reinstall, working again sip addon then deregisters and device ID changes
6 - Need to ask kayako to reset our device ID to generate new key so its registered again

This is the second time it's done this how can one resolve these issues?

Please create a support ticket provided with your Kayako members area login information and I will reset your Device ID and will send you the complete instructions to setup SIP addon.

Do you also use InstaAlert or SyncWorks? If so, do they give you the same problems with the Device ID?

We have them but not installed, I just downloaded your beta builds removed every part of kayako and even the folder in program files. Installed live response then the sip addon but I'm not getting anything appearing on the machine it's installing on (no sip addon in live response)

Other than these issues it's ****** good. Would be nice to place customers on hold internally though so you can run your own mp3's/ internet stream to play for customers. It should also allow an answering machine/callback function.

So from what I've seen so far these are my feature suggestions

1 - Custom on hold music played through the sip addon (internet streams, mp3's etc)
2 - Voice menu's, the ability to self answer and perform a greeting.
3 - The ability to autoqueue callers after x amount of active calls
4 - Callback system
5 - The ability to update on the fly news bulletins, for example if a server developes a problem you can broadcast a notice to all callers on the line to indicate an issue and that we are aware of it.

We've talked about better integration with the SIP functionality and the helpdesk. Feel free to suggest such features on the bug tracker.

Do you use an Asterisk server, or do you use an external SIP provider directly? If a lot of customers are using an in-office solution, it might be worth it for us to explore more robust options for a VoIP product.

Hi, we've released a new beta that contains a lot of bug fixes. You might be interested in trying it out to see if your problem is resolved:
