Question Trial Problems - LiveResponse App - 05-07-2006, 01:34 AM

Hi, I recently signed up for the 7 day trial to test out the system, however I seem to have encountered an error while trying to test the LiveResponse WinApp.

Now I've read the FAQ about which address to put into the WinApp however this doesn't seem to work. I have tried numerous other combinations and I still can't get it too connect.

The error I keep receiving is:

Quote:
05/07/2006 10:35:20 An error occurred while attempting to communicate with the server:

Failed to communicate with server!

Error: HttpSendRequest() : The server name or address could not be resolved
I've checked the internet connection, can ping the site etc. I've tried all different variations of address's in the program.

My trial is http://michaelhob4787ox.kayakotrial.com/, I've entered this address, as well as different endings. i.e. LiveResponse, staff, admin. But no Luck.

Any help would be appreciated, and if you need any more information, I'll do my best to provide it.

Cheers.

I signed up for it yesterday (Around 24hours ago). I did have issues at the start, but after about 4 hours it seemed to settle so I assumed the dns had propogated.

If there's no other ideas I guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to try it out

One of the other thoughts I had was the firewall we use could be blocking it from sending out to the kayako server.

Does anyone know what protocols/ports the WinApp uses to communicate with the kayako servers?

but have no idea what ports Winapp uses.

The WinApp uses HTTP port 80 and SSL port 443. Your problem was most likely a DNS one.

What is this trial thing? I am moving to a new server and wanted to test if it works there, but I think the trial is not what I thought it is.
Is the trial only a test installation on a kayako server?

gbox,

The trial allows you to experience and test all of the features of the software in your own installation on Kayako servers. Please let me know if there is anything else.
