Very strange LiveResponse problem - 03-08-2006, 08:34 PM

Starting yesterday, one of our support agents started having a very weird problem with his LiveResponse client. He'll be chatting with a customer normally, and then a little ways into the conversation, suddenly all of the text he's typing will turn bold, the cursor will appear to be 2 or 3 characters behind the last letter he typed, and then as he keeps typing, the text will begin to compress in on itself! By this I mean that the first 10 characters or so of what he's writing will stay in place, but any further typing will push the characters after that backwards so that it looks like they're being erased. So no matter how much he types, only about the first and last 10 characters are visible. When he then goes to send the message, though, it appears in the chat window totally normally, and the customer doesn't see anything weird. However, this makes it almost impossible for our agent to see what he's typed before he sends it.

Has anyone else seen this error or have a fix for it? We have 3 other people on the team who have used the program with no problems, so it seems localized. I just wanted to know if this has been duplicated elsewhere. Thanks!

This is a known issue, but I fixed it quite a while ago when I figured out how to duplicate it. Which version are you using? The latest build (3.0.95) should have this fixed.

If not, it is probably a separate issue that I should look into.

It looks like that could be our problem, because we're using version 3.0.8. However, I can't find version 3.0.95 to download. Where can I get that? The one on the downloads page appears to be for 3.0.8. Thanks!

Actually this is the only version that seems to work for me - the one that comes with my main download - only the live chat works and not the ticket view. This hot fix is the only one that will work.

Thanks.

Hi,

The version in the main download hadn't been updated with the hotfix builds until the latest stable.
