Hi there, All of our products are licensed per installation / per device or domain, in the case of the web server products; so yes, you will need to purchase a new license to install InstaAlert Pro on another device. If you were to buy the InstaAlert licenses in bulk, then I am sure our sales department would be happy to arrange a discount for you. -------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been harping on about this being the WRONG way to do things since the launch of V3 to be honest and still feel exactly the same way. The way it should work is on a PER STAFF basis. Inside each edit staff page should be boxes for each of the addons. Serials should be entered here for each one. On logon with one of the apps it should check the staff has a licence and if so, continue. To add to that, this would stop the following problems :- 1. Staff having to re-issue new serials when they change machines. 2. People getting re-issued a few times just to get all of their machines sorted. 3. The keygen being used. How would that stop a keygen being used? -------------------------------------------------------------------

Well if you then implemented a central licensing server as has been suggested in other topics it would stop it. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

No, if something like this occurs then you can simply have your device ID changed (it is obvious when a small hardware change occurs, the device ID will change slightly). Contact Sales or submit a support ticket with your old ID and new ID. -------------------------------------------------------------------

The Device ID also changes when you wipe your machine without changing the hardware I have found. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

This isn't the case - as long as your main hardware components stay the same (including firmware), it won't change. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Part of your hardware configuration must have changed (network adapter array, Windows hard disk drive etc); there isn't another way to change it. -------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with Craig, somewhere the DeviceID does change without any change of hardware when XP is re-installed. I too have experienced this numerous times. It may be down to the order in which you setup your network adapters each time (your network adapter array). -------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan confirmed a long while back to me that it will change with each format due to this, yes. Apartently without changing the algorithm, there isn't a lot that can be done. Again, back to my point about it being done in the admin control panel like I said above. IT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE! Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |
