I have a half way solution that may be of interest to people that I will soon be releasing. It is an OpenFire plugin that notifies people connected to it when a new ticket or new ticket reply is applicable to them just like InstAlert. It connects to the same place as InstAlert so no need to modify the source code, either. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Yea, OpenFire is very cool. At some point I plan to pull it away from using the API InstAlert connects to and create our own so that we can do full alerts just like the email alerts (ie on ticket assignments and also create rules for doing it). Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

You might want to look into eJabberD. It's multi-homed and scales like OpenFire could never dream of. -------------------------------------------------------------------
