Load in WinApp - 02-12-2006, 10:48 PM

I thought the newest version of insta alert and winapp would allow for having the ticket open in winapp when clicked in insta alert. Yes, I have that option selected.

Is this not working?

If you are talking the alpha builds, please wait untill it get's implemented. At the moment, it won't open in LR unless it's open in a window (not hidden).

No, I did not talk about alpha builds. I am talking about released Hotfixes that state this functionality exists and is operable. Not an alpha build behind the scenes somewhere.

If it does not work, then don't promote it. I would rather be told what's coming, not this exists, and then "just kidding", and here's the caveats. Be up front.

I can validate it does work properly if you have LR as an existing window. It cannot be hidden in order to enjoy this functionality. Thanks...hope that helps someone else with the same question.

First of all, I am not a staff of Kayako.

Secondly, alpha builds are not really behind the scenes. They are available in the hotfix sections.

Finally, that bug is confirmed and exists when LR is hidden. Ryan is wokring on it.

First, most certainly you are not.

Second, lets clear up Alpha v. Hotfix. A hot fix is a file that fixes currently broken functionality or adds incrementally functionality to a system. Widely used by many companies. I do not ever download anything that says alpha from their hotfix site. I wouldn't even ask here if I did so. I only use what is approved and published in the forums.

If what is in the forums is alpha, it is not denoted so as Ryan was clear what to look for....alpha in the file name. Ergo, I believe what is stated in the hotfx, and almost always, Roger and Ryan are right on, and things work.

Finally, thats great its a bug. That's why I asked. It was not noted elsewhere (checking flyspray is futility, not sure what is accurate or not); thank you Ryan for your hard work as always. Not a critical issue, just curious if it was working or not, cause mine didn't.

Anyway, for those looking at InstaAlert, that is the status...its a very cool feature and is almost 100%. I just leave my LR up in the background right now rather than minimizing and its all good.

that's what caused me to say:

Anyway, I sure it should be fixed real soon. There's some kind of problem on my end (my pc is dying, I guess) with the alpha testing. It works and sometimes doesn't. So I can't confirm if it has been fixed but i do remember Ryan specifically mentioning the confirmation of the bug and said he would fix it ASAP.

Windows programming can be a pain in the a** at times (err... MS).
PHP is so much easier

Just to keep everyone updated, we have released a BETA build of the add-ons, which you can read more information about at http://forums.kayako.com/showthread....4860#post44860

This "Open in WinApp" feature should work flawlessly in this build. Thanks!
