We purchased instaAlert...where do I run it? - 01-08-2006, 02:58 PM

Hey all,

We've just purchased Support Suite with the addons InstaAlert, SyncWorks and LiveUpdate, all of which have setup files in the folder as part of our download package.

Do we run each setup.exe on the server where Support Suite is installed? Not sure exactly where to run the setups.

Thanks,

Gino

Hi Gino,

You should run those Setup Wizards on each staff member's personal PC that you wish to use them from.

InstaAlert : Bad Serial Number? - 04-08-2006, 02:01 PM

I just installed InstaAlert on my PC. It installed fine, generated a registration screen. I went to the members area, punched in my device ID (correctly) and hit the "generate" button. That, in turn, generated a serial number, which I copied and pasted into the installation of InstaAlert.

I then get a "Bad Serial Number" error.

Now what?
Gino

gguarnere,

My initial thought is that there was a typo in the Device ID or the serial number, or a mistake was made when copy/pasting...

If you could give me the Device ID and serial number, I can see if they match

Can you verify that the Device ID hasn't changed since you generated the serial number?

Hi Ryan,

I'll check and report back. I'll have to fire up my laptop at work to validate this, which I'll do later today.

Ryan,

My InstaAlert Device ID is NOT the same. In fact, it's the SyncWorks device ID...I may have been half asleep and copied the Device ID from SyncWorks when I generated the serial number.

now what?

Gino
