Can't login with staff user credentials - 08-05-2007, 04:11 PM

Hello,
I've installed SyncWorks without problems and configured all the options needed.
If I put my credentials (I'm a staff user) I can't syncronize (in the log it says that there has been an Authentication error). If I use the administrator credentials, it works.
How to set my credentials? Have I to set anything in my user permission?

Second question: I syncronized all my contacts (1400) and calendar events (350+). It said me that all went fine but I cannot see this data on the Teamwork-calendar or Teamwork-contacts in the staff cp. Do I have to set something in the admin cp to let them appear? or somewhere else?

Third and last question: if I syncronized with my staff user, who'll be able to see my events and contact? I need that the people who work with me are able to see them..

Thanks in advance,
Giorgio

Ensure that you're entering the staff user name and password correctly. Any staff account should be able to access the server through SyncWorks.

Make sure that you have the option to make all items from Client->Server "public" or else they will only be visible to the staff member who uploaded them.

Again, just make sure they are set to be marked as "public" and not "private."

The username is correct, I tried with 4 different login account. No one works. Here is one example:

09/05/2007 15:19:35 Logging in to 'http://supporto.cnnet.it/' with user name 'giorgio.penna'
09/05/2007 15:19:36 An error occurred while attempting to communicate with the server:

Authentication has failed!
Error: <No extended error information available>

The option is right configured (not private). This is the log (using administrator user........):

09/05/2007 15:20:08 Logging in to 'http://supporto.cnnet.it/' with user name 'administrator'
09/05/2007 15:20:08 Logged in successfully. Session ID = {0219802e8a7443933923b979b2f62fe6}, Staff ID = {0}, Compression = true
09/05/2007 15:22:59 Generated 61273 bytes of XML for shipment to server.
09/05/2007 15:23:02 Received 1058 bytes of XML from server; integrating.
09/05/2007 15:23:02 Synchronization of Contacts to LiveResponse/SupportSuite VoIP phone is disabled; skipping...
09/05/2007 15:23:02 Received 1 Contacts from server.
09/05/2007 15:23:02 No Appointments received from server.
09/05/2007 15:23:02 No Tasks received from server.
09/05/2007 15:23:02 Found 1 new items locally; shipping to server.
09/05/2007 15:23:03 Logging out from 'http://supporto.cnnet.it/' using Session ID {0219802e8a7443933923b979b2f62fe6}
09/05/2007 15:23:03 Logged out successfully.

The problems in this case are:
1) noone of the 1400+ contact from my outlook have been published on the server, nor in that given user, neither in the others;
2) noone of the 400+ events from my outlook have been published;
3) 1 contact found on the server (right) and sync with outlook correctly;
4) It hadn't found 10 appointments that i put on the server (under my teamworks calendar).

Result: nothing work except that if I have contacts on my teamworks panel, they are syncronized and put in my outlook...

Help

P.s.: Windows XP Professional SP2
Office Professional Edition 2003
SyncWorks STABLE 3.1.1.6 taken from http://hotfix.kayako.com/syncworks/

Did this get resolved? I don't recall ever receiving a ticket regarding this issue.

Are you sure you have purchased enough licenses? You might only have one license that is registered to the admin user which could be why you cannot log in as anyone else.

SyncWorks is licensed on a per-machine basis; not a per-user, so it wouldn't matter which staff account was used.
