Initial install synchronisation - 26-08-2007, 06:21 AM

Greetings.

Here again with another SyncWorks issue I think I've noticed - Ryan, more of a question to you about the intended behaviour or if this is a bug..

I've just purchased an additional SyncWorks license and am using it with the same access credentials as on my other installation.

The installation on my initial machine is working fine.

After installing SyncWorks on the second machine and performing a sync - no contacts are received from the server. [Ryan, this differs from my thread in the beta testers forum - I've reverted back to the previous build which does not have the issue I mentioned in the beta forum]

Shouldn't the initial synchronisation fetch all of the contacts from the server and perform some sort of merge across to get things going?

Chris

Hmm, maybe it isn't designed to sync with two copies of Outlook.

Oh well, sounds like a bug then.

I'll boot my laptop up later and test it out.

Ok, scratch that.

It's actually gone ahead and deleted every single contact I had in the Teamwork area.

My laptop installation won't synchronise the contacts back to the server - even if I edit them and change some of the details within them.

That is weird - I have managed to synchronise my laptop Outlook and my desktop without any issues (including my pocket PC and a mobile phone!)

I just updated my post Jamie - something very much weird is going on here.

I'll do complete reinstalls tomorrow I think.

Any update on this one Chris? I'm interested in knowing how the contacts got wiped.

Hi Ryan,

No idea how the got wiped - they for some reason just disappeared.

Anywho - configured both machines again and now it all works fine.
