It needs to be purchased on a per machine basis. See http://www.kayako.com/pricing.php for more details. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

I just bought this yesterday and wish I found this post first. Purchase Pricing * No mention of per machine "SyncWorks is a SupportSuite™/eSupport™/LiveResponse™ add-on designed for use with Microsoft® Outlook® that helps to ensure that data such as contacts, tasks and events are always up-to-date on the help desk as well as on each staff user's PC." The last 5 words of the above statement means to me 'on each staff user's PC', not only 1 PC and you have to buy for each additional staff user's PC. Rather disappointed. Wonder if they'll refund as their is no way I intend to pay that price per machine. X. |

Explain the situation in a ticket. I think they will give you a refund as I agree, that isn't clear on the pricing page. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Kayako's (well, direct from the top - Varun) has always been that C++ development costs more and takes longer than PHP development and this needs to be covered. I have no problem with the above but have ALWAYS said it should not be done this way. It should be done on a per staff member basis. The key.php file should contain how many licensed copies of the addon applications are active on the account. This should then allow up to this number to be ticked to activate the addons inside the edit / add staff pages. This way makes much more sense. I have also always said an "unlimited" licence should be available for each application. The above has always falled on deaf ears unfortunately. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Hi wilfy, For the majority of our customers, per-machine licenses work out easier and cost-effective due to hotdesking situations. Quote:

Did you not see the thread I started in the early V3 days? I had a lot of support for changing licensing to this way and doing unlimited licences too. Plus, the current way licensing system on the apps is easy to reverse engineer as has been proved. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

I do recall the thread, and quite a few people posted in it. However, the number is hardly representative of our enormous customer base. The 'cracked' licensing in our desktop applications took a long time to be done, and is most certainly more difficult to crack than faking licensing via the server-software. On a technical note; I am not sure why you use the question of how hard it is to 'crack' and pirate the applications as an argument for offloading the entire license management onto each customer's own server installation; where it would be possible to fake license broadcasts. We currently offer discounts for bulk licensing. For the foreseeable future, licensing will remain machine-based. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Some of the applications were cracked for the first time in or around the release of 3.10.00. The applications themselves have existed for much longer than this. -------------------------------------------------------------------

The licences can be migrated to new machines easily. Simply contact customer service with the old machine serial number and new machine device id. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |
