SyncWorks marks all items as private - 25-01-2008, 11:38 AM

Hi everybody,

as mentioned above, we want to sync our Outlook 2007 calendar and contacts with the TeamWork module.
But when we check "Make xxx private", all items are transfered as private, so nobody else can see my contacts or appointments.
When we uncheck "Make xxx private" it works fine, but that´s not what we want (everybody has private contacts and appointments in his Outlook).

So it seems that there is no check for the private marker in Outlook, or did I miss something ?

Greetings
Marco

Hi Marco,

what version are you running? I saw this bug in the code myself, but believe it is fixed in 3.11.01 or later.

Hello Jamie,

we´re using SupportSuite 3.11.01 STABLE and I´ve tried
SyncWorks 3.1.2.11 STABLE and now 3.2.4.22 UNSTABLE.

I'll discuss this with Ryan this evening and report back with a fix or whether it has been fixed in the latest CVS build.

There is no concept of public/private for Outlook-side items in SyncWorks; they're all marked as default (which, as far as I know, is public).

This is by design and will be remedied in version 4.

jnet, all your contacts will remain private on the server side as long as the setting is enabled in SyncWorks.

This is also being updated in v4 for Teamwork.

Is the ability for Syncworks to differentiate between Outlook-side private and public items, and upload to Teamwork as such, still on the cards for V4 as this is a feature we'd really like to see.

I'm in the process of trialling Kayako at the moment, with a view to buying for our helpdesk, but I'd need this feature working before I would buy. Is there an estimated date for V4?

Are you saying that you'd want an option to only upload public items from Outlook?

Ryan

Either the option to upload only public items, and the private items are left in Outlook only; or the ability for Syncworks to differentiate between items flagged as Public or Private, and upload accordingly. The second option at least would allow full access to all contacts to the person who uploaded them - even the private ones in case you were away from your computer.
I'd read that the second option was pencilled against V4? Is this still the case? Adn when should I look out for it?

Chris
