From Apple.com news:

“Even after being on the market for less than half a year,” reports Nancy Gohring (IDG News Service), “more iPhones sold in the fourth quarter than Windows Mobile phones in the U.S., according to research from Canalys.” The research suggest that “iPhone had 28 percent of the U.S. converged-device market in the fourth quarter of 2007” with Research in Motion coming in with 41% and Windows Mobile phones with a 21% share. [Feb 06, 2008]

Looks like Windows is only 21% share, Blackberry's 41%.

I had a windows mobile PDA for about a month. After having to recharge it every 2 hours I stopped using it. My company now uses blackberrys and I have not seen a windows mobile device in over a year now...

Hi,

I have a Blackberry 8310, can you use the Blackberry browser to access eSupport? as my package only allows me to use the Blackberry browser for free, if I use any other browser I will get charged like a wounded bull.

When I try to use both the /pds /wap I login then booted out to the login prompt asking for U/P again saying "Session Expired Due to inactivity"

Do we have a work around for this?, I know here in Australia Blackberry's are being more popular with phone company's with the packages hence why I got one over WM6.

This seems to be a known issue. I saw this myself. Here is the resolution that worked for us:

hello pal !! - 12-02-2008, 02:57 AM

I can´t use the browse native of blackberry, because I have the same result of you.

You can use the solution from the friend efisher on this post.

PDA - Blackberry work?

I like use the miniopera with kayako /pda, for me this apps work fine, I prefer to use ths browser for many websites, I don´t like delete any code of php program.

You can learn to use the opera mini in one hour ready the help commands and this is only another good apps for your blackberry. the favorite key is the spacebar in mini opera . jejeje

Greeting from Venezuela
Miguel

I have a blackberry and was trying to use the default kayako mobile thing but it was TERRIBLE.
This is absolutely imperative to get working on a blackberry....
I absolutely agree with netFusion.
Blackberries are NOT a neiche market, and to think so would be ludicrious.

Hi Bionhosting,

We will be looking to improve the PDA interface in Version 4. However, the reason it is difficult to use on a Blackberry is because of the shortcomings of the Blackberry browser.

I most also add that I or another Kayako staff haven't said Blackberry is a niche market - I do not not think it is a niche at all, so we will do our best to cater in future.

bionhosting,

What kind of issues are you running into (just wondering). We use BB-8830's and the /pda interface seems to work just fine for answering tickets etc. If you are having issues with the default BB browser (that is what we use) try Opera Mini.

I was actually the one who said it was a niche market (and I am not a staff member...). Reason being is that there is many more WM devices out there than there are Blackberries.

Anyway, I think Kayako would want to keep compatability for all browsers rather than target a specific mobile one.

I also use a Blackberry Pearl 8100 and notice /pda does not work well with it.

I also have the issue with

When I try to use both the /pds /wap I login then booted out to the login prompt asking for U/P again saying "Session Expired Due to inactivity"

This appears to have corrected it though:

Open the file config.php unde the cofig directory of the software and change:

/**
* DISABLE SESSION IP CHECKS
*/
$_SWIFT["disablesessionipcheck"] = false;

To:
/**
* DISABLE SESSION IP CHECKS
*/
$_SWIFT["disablesessionipcheck"] = true;

That should fix the issue.

The Blackberries are outselling WM phones presently.
