Allow HTML Tags (no) - 08-06-2007, 08:34 AM

I've answered No to Allow HTML Tags in Settings -> Mail Parser

All incoming emails still have html tags like this:

New Ticket: Contact Form Submission

<font size="2" face="Arial"><TABLE CELLPADDING="1" CELLSPACING="1"><TR><TD BGCOLOR="EEEEEE">Name</TD><TD>Strip me baby one more time</TD></TR><TR><TD BGCOLOR="EEEEEE">Phone</TD><TD>555-555-1212</TD></TR><TR><TD BGCOLOR="EEEEEE">Question</TD><TD>Stephanie hates html tags in her email</TD></TR><TR><TD BGCOLOR="EEEEEE">submit</TD><TD>submit</TD></TR></TABLE></font>
<br />--

What am I missing?

Make sure the setting "Post Text Conversion" under - Admin CP > Settings > Tickets > General Ticket Settings is set to "Strip Tags" as well

The issue is with the email template body tag. Change it from body to .body and it should fix the issue.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, where do I find this template?

I searched in: Dashboard » Templates

including: alert_newticket

I can't seem to find anything that would have a body tag

Nope

I found a client css that had body instead of .body. That's the only instant of 'body' that I've found.

All templates were restored to the default installation just in case...problem still exists

I posted a fix in this message:

Escape HTML in help desk -- NOT HARD !!!

But it seems Kayako have never implemented it. I don't mind HTML tags as long as they don't screw up the browser (LiveResponse just uses IE). This is VERY VERY VERY simple to implement and almost a no-brainer... maybe one of the developers will read this and add this logic to the email parser.

Cliff.

Cliff,

Could I bother you to tell me where I would place that? I thought maybe I could set it up as a message rule but don't believe that'll work. If you could give me some instructions that would be awesome

Thanks
